I officially enrolled with the Red Power Divas in 2011. That Christmas my husband bought me a very nice pair running shoes, so I had no excuse not to practice running and to work on building up my endurance for my first race in March 2012 at Vasona Park. But my classes started the following week and, unfortunately, I dropped out of sight to focus on my school work. After a couple of years, I realized that I needed an outlet for the stress of work and school. So I went on the RPD website in November 2014, and found out about the Run to End World Hunger race on New Year's Day 2015 at the Shoreline in Mountain View. I remember it was a very, very cold morning but the RPD's were there in force ready to celebrate the new year. I realized then that RPD is a very special group of men, women and children. Since then, they have continued to motivate me to keep coming out to the practices and the races.
This year, I plan to do more hill training to build my endurance which can help me to set new PRs.
