Half Marathon Coach

I first joined the Divas in 2012 after reading an article about the group in the San Jose Mercury News.  I was returning to running after having quit in my 30's due to knee issues.  I was happy to find an incredibly supportive team to train with.  That year I ran several 10ks, farther than I had run in over 10 years.  I really looked forward to the Saturdays on the Los Gatos Creek Trail, getting to know other Divas.  I was sidelined with an injury late that year however, followed by hip surgery in 2013. Recovery was long and painful and I didn’t think I’d ever be a runner again. 


I started up with the Divas again in 2015, walking, jogging and to my pleasant surprise, eventually running 10k's.  In 2016, I was able to complete a number of 10k's in under an hour, which was my target.  I also volunteered to be a first time coach in 2016 because I wanted to help others achieve their health and fitness goals and have fun along the way.  I enjoyed being a coach so much that I am back for 2017.  I know how much it has meant to me to have the Divas and coaches’ support and I want to continue to provide that to other runners, whatever their goals.  For 2017, my personal stretch goal is to do a 1/2 marathon, pacing myself with walk/run for the longer distances. Looking forward to a fantastic season ahead…Red Rocks!
