The Red Power Divas/Divos is a Building Peaceful Families walking/running support group where members are educated and encouraged to make informed decisions about their health, safety, and well being while seeking balance. In three short seasons, membership in this inspirational group has grown to more than 700 women (Divas), men (Divos), children (FitKidz), and senior members (Golden Diva/Divos). There are no fees to join, no fundraising, and no guilt. In this group, members find a solid network of support, where everyone is welcomed, encouraged, and nurtured.
Our spring training season begins in May and ends in October. Each Saturday during the spring season, guest speakers make presentations on a number of different subjects, including hydration, running form, health, injury prevention, nutrition, and violence prevention. By the end of the spring training season, members will be ready to successfully complete a half marathon, 10K, or 5K, depending on the individual goals they establish. The winter training season starts in November and ends in April, and is designed to help members maintain fitness and balance in their lives. A Red Power Divas newsletter, which includes articles about health, safety, and well being, is distributed to all members monthly.
